Network Georeferencing and Additional Investigations
Also known as subsurface asset surveying, underground utility mapping is essential during the construction, modification, or extension of buried infrastructure. Throughout the project lifecycle, municipalities, project designers, and owners frequently rely on Detect Réseaux to locate undocumented pipelines, clusters of utilities, or outdated installations.

Additional investigations
When construction is planned near high-risk infrastructure — such as electrical lines, gas pipelines, street lighting, or signaling systems — precise verification is not optional, it’s essential. These “sensitive” networks pose significant risks to both people and assets.
In cases where existing network data is incomplete or below required accuracy standards (Class A), complementary investigations become mandatory under local regulations. Since January 1st, 2018 in France, such investigations must be performed by certified professionals.

Our Approach
From analysis to on-site implementation, the Detect Réseaux teams operate in 4 key stages:

We analyze the network plans provided by project managers and owners, or utility companies to assess the scope of the project.

On site, we locate visible utility access points to gather detailed information about the underground layout and congestion. We then deploy our full range of solutions: first, induction detection precisely locates metallic conductive networks (electrical, telecommunications, etc.). Next, ground-penetrating radar confirms the induction traces and detects all other existing networks (potable water supply, sewage, etc.). These techniques allow us to accurately map the networks in both planimetry (x, y) and altimetry (z).

The position of each utility is marked on the ground using standardized color codes to distinguish them. These markings are then recorded by the surveyor and formalized on detailed plans.

Finally, Detect Réseaux provides the site manager with the updated georeferenced map, manually annotated by our teams. The site is now secure, and excavation work can begin.
